Habitat for Humanity Northumberland Launches Finish A Home Fundraising Campaign to Complete 8 Homes

Cobourg, ON – Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is excited to announce the launch of its 4th Finish A Home fundraising campaign, aimed at completing 8 homes in Northumberland. The Finish A Home campaign invites donors to contribute directly to the finishing touches of Habitat homes by selecting and funding specific items such as toilets, sinks, light fixtures, and flooring. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 to support the completion of these homes.

The Finish A Home campaign will run until Monday, September 12th. A detailed shopping list of available items can be viewed online at habitatnorthumberland.ca or in-person at the ReStore location at 764 Division St. in Cobourg.

This year's campaign is particularly ambitious, with Habitat Northumberland working on 8 homes simultaneously—an unprecedented endeavor for the organization. Of these, 7 are part of the Net Zero Townhomes project in Baltimore, and one is a single detached home in Cobourg. With the rising cost of housing, the need for affordable housing in our community has never been greater. By increasing our housing stock, we aim to provide more families with access to affordable homeownership.

Since its inception, the Finish A Home campaign has raised over $68,000. The success of this year’s campaign will be vital in achieving our goal of completing 8 homes. Once the campaign concludes, a final donation tally will be announced on Habitat’s website and social media platforms. Through this initiative, supporters will contribute to building strength, stability, and independence for local families through affordable homeownership.
